My name is Chad. I've been playing video games for the past 25 years or so. The first game I remember playing was Star Fox 64 at a friend's house. Ever since then, I was hooked. Years later, I got my very first console: the Playstation. My father and I would bond over playing rentals from the local video rental store. Remember those? He eventually bought the family an original Xbox, so I got to experience the games my classmates were raving about. My siblings, cousins, dad, and uncle would play it for hours when we were together. Those were some of the best years of my life.Despite now being in my thirties, I try to hold onto the child-like part of me that loves the sense of wonder video games gave me.Sometime in my teen years, I discovered YouTube and creators on the platform doing some really neat things in the video game sphere. There was always something about early YouTube video game reviews that spoke to me. Inspired by the likes of Classic Game Room, CGRundertow, and SNES drunk, I look to continue the legacy of journalistic game reviews.Here at Hidden Block, I try to look beyond the 'good' or 'bad' labels to find whether or not games are fun to play. I have a large library of over 1,200 physical games in the collection (not counting digital), so I try to review games I already have, or I'll go out and purchase them before I do any kind of review. There will occasionally be exceptions, but I try to stick with reviewing games I have immediate access to.So come along, have some fun, and let me know of any games I should play!
